Complete the following steps to edit an e-mail alert:
Click My Alerts.
Locate the e-mail alert that you would like to edit, and then click Edit.
One of the following pages will display depending on the type of alert:
Edit a Document Citation Alert page: If you are editing a Document Citation Alert, the Edit a Document Citation Alert page will display.
You can edit the original alert settings for a Document Citation alert, but not the original query. See Document Citation Alerts for more information.
Edit a Search Alert page: If you are editing a Search Alert, the Edit a Search Alert page will display. See Search Alerts for more information.
To edit a Search Alert query:
On the Edit a Search Alert page, click Edit Query.
The search form that you used to create the query will display with your search query populated.
Edit the search.
Click Update to replace the alert with the edited version.
OR
Click Test Search to check the results of your new search without updating the alert.
From the Test Search results, click Update to replace your alert with the edited search, or click Return to continue editing.
Edit an Author Citation Alert page: If you are editing an Author Citation Alert, the Edit an Author Citation Alert page will display.
You can edit the original alert settings for an Author Citation alert, but you cannot change the author for the alert. See Author Citation Alerts for more information.
On the specific Edit Alert page, edit the available information.
Do one of the following:
To save your changes to the alert, click Update.
OR
To return to the My Alerts page without saving your changes, click Cancel.
