Showing Documents, Authors, or Affiliations

Return to Basic Search

When you search for authors or affiliations from Basic Search, you can choose to search for documents, authors, or affiliations.

Show: Documents

Select Show: Documents to search document fields. From a Show: Documents search, you can also search other document fields. Show Me

The following Basic Search finds documents written by smith that include the keyword heart.

Show: Authors

Select Show: Authors to find documents written by a particular person even when that person is cited in a different way. A Show: Authors search uses the Scopus Author Identifier.

Selecting Show: Authors opens a selection page that lists the authors that match your search criteria. From those pages, you can view documents for specific authors.

Note: Selecting Show: Authors limits your Basic Search, so all other search criteria on the Basic Search form is ignored. Show Me

The following searches return the same results even though Example 2 includes a keyword search. The heart keyword search criteria is ignored because Show: Authors is seleScted.

Show: Affiliations

Select Show: Affiliations to find documents associated with a particular affiliation even when that affiliation is cited in a different way. A Show: Affiliations search uses the Scopus Affiliation Identifier.

Selecting Show: Affiliations will open a selection page that lists the affiliations that match your search criteria. From those pages, you can view documents for specific affiliations.

Note: Selecting Show: Affiliations limits your Basic Search, so all other search criteria on the Basic Search form is ignored. Show Me

The following searches return the same results even though Example 2 includes a keyword search. The dopamine keyword search criteria is ignored because Show: Affiliations is selected.
