Author Search helps you find documents written by a specific person even if the author is cited differently.
For example, an author may be cited as Smith, J in one document, but as Smith, John in another. Scopus helps you find the right author, faster, by grouping together documents written by specific authors even when they are cited differently. For more information about searching for authors, see Scopus Author Identifier.
Tip: From Author Search, you can search for authors or affiliations. To search for affiliations from Author Search, enter search criteria only in the Affiliation field. You can also search for affiliations on the Affiliation Search form.
Your Author Search results appear on the Make Author Selection page. It lists any available author name variations that match your search criteria. From the Make Author Selection page, you can do the following:
To search for authors
Note: Boolean and proximity operators are not available in Author Search.
In Last Name, enter an author's last name.
In Initials or First Name, enter an author's first name or initials.

In Affiliation, enter affiliation search criteria for your author, such as organization name and location.
| Note: | If you enter text only in the Affiliation field, affiliations will be returned instead of authors. |
Select one or more Subject Areas for your search.

Click Search to begin your Author Search.
The At the Make Author Selection page, elect the author(s) you want to search for from the list using the following selection options.
| Note: | Scopus Author Identifier matches authors based on information in documents. Some documents do not have sufficient information for the Author Identifier to accurately match them, even when they are written by the same author. In this case, they will appear as single entries in the author results list alongside the larger groups.
To ensure that your selection is complete, check the results list and, if necessary, add any single, unmatched authors to your selection. |
Select individual check boxes to the left of the authors you want to include.
Click
to select all authors shown in the list.
Click
to select all authors on the current page of results.
Click a selected check box to remove that author from the selection.
Do one of the following:
To view the documents associated with your selected authors, click
.
To view Author Details, click the
Details link for the author you want to view.
To track citations for the selected authors, click
.
Either the Citation Overview or the Request Citation Tracker page appears. You'll see the Request Citation Tracker page if your Citation Tracker contains a large number of documents; will take a long time to process; or if JavaScript™ is disabled in your browser.
