    Note

Scopus Author Identifier matches authors based on information in documents. Some documents do not have sufficient information for the Author Identifier to accurately match them, even when they are written by the same author. In this case, they will appear as single entries in the author results list alongside the larger groups.

To ensure that your selection is complete, check the results list and, if necessary, add any single, unmatched authors to your selection.

Finding and Grouping Unmatched Affiliations

Scopus Affiliation Identifier matches affiliations based on information in documents. Some documents do not have sufficient information for the Affiliation Identifier to accurately match them, even when they are from the same affiliation.

To ensure that you are viewing a complete list of documents for an affiliation, you can use the Find unmatched affiliations link to combine information from several affiliations.

When you have grouped affiliations, you can view documents for all the affiliations in the group and view a combined affiliation details page for all of the grouped affiliations.

Note: The affiliations will be grouped only for your current session. To suggest that a group of affiliations be permanently matched in Scopus, click the Feedback button.

To find and group unmatched affiliations

  1. From the Advanced Search page, click Author or Affiliation name.

  2. In Affiliation, enter your affiliation search criteria, such as the affiliation name and location.

Note: If you enter text in the Last Name or Initials or First Name fields, authors will be returned instead of affiliations.

  3. Click Search.

Affiliations that match your search criteria will display on the Make Affiliation Selection page.

  4. Click the Find unmatched affiliations link for the affiliation you want to match.

Scopus will retrieve up to 6 of the most relevant unmatched affiliations in a new results page. See Adding Unmatched Affiliations for more information.

  5. Select the affiliations that you would like to group with the main affiliation.

  6. Click Group with affiliation to add the selected affiliations to the main affiliation on the Make Affiliation Selection page.
