Finding and Grouping Unmatched Authors

Scopus Author Identifier matches authors based on information in documents. Some documents do not have sufficient information for the Author Identifier to accurately match them, even when they are written by the same author. To ensure that you are viewing a complete list of documents for an author, you can use the Find unmatched authors link to combine information from several authors on a single Authors Details page.

When you have grouped authors, you can view the number of documents, track citations, create an h-graph, view Co-Authors, and Print or E-Mail details for both the author on the Author Details page and for all the grouped authors.

Note: The authors will be grouped only for your user account and only for your current session.

To find and group unmatched authors

  1. Click the Find unmatched authors link. Scopus retrieves up to 6 of the most relevant unmatched authors.

To view the full list of unmatched authors, click the Show full list link. See Adding Unmatched Authors for more information.

  2. Select the authors that you would like to group on the current Author Details page.

  3. Click Group with author to add the selected authors to this Author Details page.

The Author Details page displays the grouped authors.
