Author Citation Alerts

Author Citation alerts notify you by e-mail when an author or group of matched authors is cited on Scopus. An Author Citation Alert can be created from an Author Details page and from author Cited By search results.

Author Citation alerts can be edited on the My Alerts page.

Note: Non-Scopus documents (abstracts available on platforms external to Scopus) and citations derived from Scopus references are not included in Author Citation alerts.

To create an Author Citation Alert

1. From the Basic or Author search form, do the following:

   1. Enter your author search criteria.

   2. For a Basic Search, select Authors from the field type list, and then select Show: Authors.

   3. Click Search.

2. At the Make Author Selection page, click the  Details link for the author you want to view.

3. At the Author Details page, do one of the following:

• Click the E-mail alert link next to Cited By.

  

• Click the E-mail alert link in the Cited by since 1996 box.

4. Review the author name in the Author field to confirm that you are creating an alert for the appropriate author.

Note: If your Author Citation alert is for a group of matched authors, all the author names are listed.

5. In the Name of Alert field, enter a name for the Author Citation Alert.

   Note: This field automatically displays the author name and identifier. If your Author Citation alert is for a group of matched authors, the field displays the preferred author's name and the text "Multiple Author ID's".

6. In the E-mail Address field, enter the e-mail address where you want the alert to be sent.

   Note: This field automatically displays the e-mail address you entered when you registered for Scopus. You can edit this field to send the alert to a different e-mail address.

7. From the Frequency list, select how often you want to receive the alert. You will recieve e-mail notices only if the author has been cited within the specified time period.

Note: Select Inactive to stop recieving e-mails without deleting your alert.

8. From the E-mail Format section, select either HTML or Text format for your alert.

9. Click Submit to save the Author Citation alert,
